YOU ARE REQUIRED TO LISTEN TO AND REVIEW POETRY AS IT IS PERFORMED ON THE INTERNET. Write a paragraph to a page telling me who the poet is, how the reading was presented (oral, video, with or without music, etc.) and if possible a sample of the actual poem.

Be sure to send me the link itself (both homepage and specific link to the poet/poetry).

You are encouraged to find poetry in performance on the internet. Do your own search to find poetry on line. To assist you, however, here are some links you may consult to find a poet to enjoy and review. (Thanks to my student Chris for this list!)

You can choose who to listen to by title, style, theme, or poet.
Each poet you click on also gives you a short biography with
poems you can listen to online.

A Library of Congress website as a reference of writers. When you choose a poet you can see if their work is available in performance-- but it is not always performed by the poet him or herself. I prefer you listen to the poet read the work he or she wrote!

This website features high school students performing in a
Slam.

There are so many more. Search, listen, experiment, enjoy and pass along your information in the form of a short review you can share with all the students in the class.
