THIRD, REVISED, RESEARCH PAPER

Procedure:  Now that you have completed your persuasive essay (completing at least the initial two examples of your essay without any sources), and now that you have read the critical lessons on "Plagiarism," "Research Sources," and "MLA Form," it is time start your paragraphs for your full essay.

NOTE: You must have in-context documentation and also you must have a list of your two entries under the heading of "Sources Consulted" at the end of your paper.

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO FIND TWO PRIMARY, FULLY VERIFIABLE SOURCES. CLICK HERE FOR:  A DISCUSSION OF RESEARCH METHODS

Complete two (2) paragraphs as if they were the third and fourth examples of the essay you wrote (your first full, persuasive essay for which you have already received a grade), only this time add two outside sources.  Follow MLA contextual form, presenting hard facts, expert quotes, or information about exemplary cases which will  support your reasoning, and providing the necessary parenthetical note.

RESEARCH EXAMPLES

Your paragraphs will receive a grade as if they were a separate paper but they must be included in a fully revised and corrected version of the first paper you submitted.

YOUR TWO RESEARCH PARAGRAPHS SHOULD FOLLOW THE PROPER OUTLINE:

3rd  A. If we look at {evidence from book or periodical} we can see {key words}.

&    B. Explain where evidence was found. (Say why we should respect your source.)

4th  C. Quote &/or present evidence. (MLA contextual form)

ex. D. Paraphrase. (Put evidence, quote, fact in your own words.)

       E. Explain how evidence proves your point. (Explain at great length!)

YOU  MUST PROVIDE: An entry for each source following proper form for an MLA “Source Consulted.”

NO PAPER WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT YOUR SUBMITTING COPIES OF YOUR  SOURCES AND/OR THE ACCURATE LINKS TO THE SOURCES.

CAUTION: There is a set form for the inclusion of research materials in your paper.  If you do not know and use the form properly—specifically, if you plagiarize—you can not pass.  Get it right the first time! Seriously!  Your paper will be graded for structure, style, MLA form and of course logic/content. In addition the quality of your research source will affect your grade.

A Recommended Procedure for completing a "Research Paper"

1. Do careful and as much as possible, primary research to locate those one or two most important facts that will lend authority and credibility to your argument.

2. Complete your research paragraphs (examples) using the minimum of quoted material to make exactly the point you need to prove your point.

3. Check and use the exact MLA contextual form, providing the necessary parenthetical notes and a list at the end showing "Works Consulted."
