Iceland is one of the places in the world where a plate boundary can be viewed.  The Mid Atlantic ridge rises above sea level on the island of Iceland where active volcanoes, sulfur-rich fumaroles, geysirs, black sand beaches and geothermal pools are situated among large areas of glacial ice.
