COURSE OBJECTIVE:

               Students will have a strong foundation in a variety of control consoles.  They will have the ability to set-up, program and troubleshoot for practical applications in the field.

 

  1. Hands-on exposure to a variety of consoles.
  2. DMX addressing and patching.
  3. ETC expression and Express consoles.
  4. Hog 500 and NSI programming.
  5. CMY color mixing and effects.
  6. Using effects generators.
  7. Macros and short cuts.
  8. Design concepts and application.
  9. Software upgrades and other resources.

 

PROCEDURES FOR COMPLETING COURSE OBJECTIVES:

 

  1. Class room projects.
  2. In-Class Demonstrations.
  3. Guest Lectures.
  4. Practical application using lighting consoles.
  5. Field Trips.

Student Requirements

  1. Active Participation in Class Projects and Demonstrations.
  2. Complete all assigned reading assignments.
  3. Keep an up to date notebook.
  4. Proper completion of all assigned projects.

E.   Attendance is Mandatory.

 

Attendance Policy

  1. You are allowed Two Absences without Penalty.
  2. Each additional absence will lower your grade by ½ a letter.
  3. No absences on exam dates or project due dates.
  4. Two late arrivals equal one absence.

 

Tests & Quizzes

               There are no tests given in this class. 

 

Required Material

               You are required to bring a notebook to class and keep all handouts given during the semester. You are also requires to have a supply of 3.5” floppy disks for projects. (2 per project)
