Fostering Open Communication, Understanding and Scholarship

May 9, 2007 Meeting Agenda
  1. Election of Officers
  2. Review: What we've accomplished. How can we do what we do better? Re-consider meeting times, frequency of meetings, frequency of events, ways of contacting each other, etc.
  3. Planning: Choose from suggestions that have been made for next semester (and discuss new ones?):

    1. Co-sponsoring with the Office of Multi-Cultural Affairs, a dramatization by Stony Brook students concerning substance abuse issues. (November)
    2. Military recruitment. Perhaps bringing in guest speaker(s).
    3. Freedom of speech issues on campus.
    4. Campaign Reform Issues
    5. A speaker on Peak Oil and its effect on our lives.
  4. A discussion of what should be an appropriate response to Joy Mahabir's memo about the student-inspired objection to promotional literature for the trip to Spain this summer. We need to develop a timely plan of action.
