Required
REQUIRED ACCESS, TEXTS AND OTHER RESOURCES
- Access to a computer, modem (56k is a suggested minimum; DSL or cable modem is ideal) and to the Internet through your own Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Windows 98 for the PC and OS X for the Mac are considered a minimum for desktop operating systems.
- It is also recommended that you use one of four browsers: Internet Explorer 4.x or Netscape Communicator/Navigator 6.x or Opera 6.x or higher, or Mozilla/Firefox 1.x or better. They are available free for download from https://access.sunysuffolk.edu/Students/.
- For web page design, Microsoft Word ( available for free on most PCs) is more than adequate for this course. If, howevere, you're interested in learning more spohisticated programs, you might want to purchase a WYSIWYG program, i.e., Microsoft's FrontPage 1.0, Adobe GoLive or Dreamweaver. These range in price from $49 to $150 ( best prices are usually available on-line) and are available for both Mac and PC. Netscape Communicator 4.0 or better and Internet Explorer 5.0, free to download, also have a minimum web page design programs.
