• Make sure you buy Plaster of Paris (25 lb bag should be about
$7) do not buy joint compound, patching compound, etc even though the
workers at the hardware store may refer to these materials as plaster.
• Figure out how much volume of plaster you need
• Put 80% that volume of water into a container (bucket or bowl)
• Slowly sift in plaster between hands DO NOT STIR
• As water becomes saturated, plaster will begin to float on
surface
• When plaster forms multiple islands that do not sink in 8 seconds,
you have enough
• Now it's time to stir, Mix with hands, breaking up all lumps
• Ready to pour!
Remember: NO PLASTER DOWN THE SINK!!! |
