Mixing Plaster

• Make sure you buy Plaster of Paris (25 lb bag should be about $7) do not buy joint compound, patching compound, etc even though the workers at the hardware store may refer to these materials as plaster.

• Figure out how much volume of plaster you need

• Put 80% that volume of water into a container (bucket or bowl)

• Slowly sift in plaster between hands DO NOT STIR

• As water becomes saturated, plaster will begin to float on surface

• When plaster forms multiple islands that do not sink in 8 seconds,
   you have enough

• Now it's time to stir, Mix with hands, breaking up all lumps

• Ready to pour!

Remember: NO PLASTER DOWN THE SINK!!!
